Cost efficient metallurgy for the production of novel ultra
high strength deep drawable steel grades with high Mn contents
from 10 to 25 wt.-% (PROMS)
The project addresses a current need for novel ultra high-strength deep-drawable steels
with high manganese contents of up to 25 wt.-% and extremely improved properties for
light-weight construction.
The aim is the selection and development of suitable technologies of primary and secondary
metallurgy for the production of these steels and the determination of tolerable contents
of critical tramp and trace elements.
The proposal objectives will be achieved by a combination of theoretical investigations,
laboratory development and larger-scale trials.
